“I would like to offer my sincere gratitude for the excellent care you provided me while I was your patient at the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center-Richmond Dermatology Clinic. In 2017, I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the head and neck with perineural invasion (PNI) of the trigeminal nerve. After you performed a biopsy of a skin lesion on my left cheek, the pathology indicated SCC with margins and an MRI was performed to reveal the diagnosis. I was treated with 33 radiation therapy treatments and now the SSC is stable. This prevented the SCC from spreading to my brain and other organs and possibly saved my life.

Since receiving the initial care at your clinic, I have been diagnosed with additional SCCs and have had numerous biopsies, surgical excisions, and Mohs micrographic surgeries at your clinic. I will remember that you always made time for me, treated me with respect, and most of all you listened to what I had to say.
