Practice History

Founded by Dr. Jo Bohannon-Grant in 1990, Midlothian Dermatology has been a leading dermatology practice in the Richmond area for over 30 years. The practice garnered many accolades from Richmond Magazine, Style Weekly, Patient's Choice and Virginia Living magazines over the years. Dr. Bohannon-Grant was the first dermatologist to introduce lasers and microdermabrasion to Richmond. She pioneered CO2 laser skin resurfacing, intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy, and laser hair removal in 1995, and microdermabrasion in 1998. In 2002, her office was chosen as one of only 138 National Training Centers for teaching Botox® techniques to other physicians and was designated a National Center of Botox® Excellence. She also introduced Juvederm™ in the Richmond area when it first arrived on market and quickly became the highest level provider with any company whose products she chose to use.

Dr. Bohannon-Grant retired from routine patient care in 2022. She was very proud of the unwavering commitment to excellence that she cultivated at Midlothian Dermatology. Her mission was to deliver exceptional care with honesty and integrity. We are tremendously grateful to have worked with her and look forward to carrying on her legacy.
